Safe Passage can be used to protect your identity and privacy while using the internet. When Safe Passage tunnels via your SSH server, your tunneled traffic is encrypted between you your SSH server. It appears to anyone logging your activity that you are sitting at the server you are "Safe Passaged" to. If you really want to secure your privacy, it is important to choose a SSH Host(s) that is at a remote geographic location (another address, another city, another country?.) A good start in finding an SSH Host is to go to SSH Accounts. There is a list there of some 230 SSH hosts from around the world. Be sure and check their policies, etc. before you purchase. If the host uses Linux, one thing you should look for is that the host has IPv6 disabled on their SSH server (ask them to start SSHD with the "-4" switch. This is because of a bug that hangs OpenSSH when using DNS on Linux.) For added security, you may want to Enable High Security which blocks port scanners and ensures that all of your traffic goes over your Safe Passage Tunnels.
